Hello, Burlington!

Today is Walk, Bike, and Roll to school day for Fox Hill community. Bundle up and save some emissions this morning!

Also, the public meeting about the Wheeler-Blanchard corridor is tonight. See below for more info.

Yesterday, Recreation Commission member, Kevin Sullivan, announced he will no longer be seeking re-election to the Recreation Commission. From Kevin:

I am announcing that I will not be running for the Recreation Commission this year.

I have enjoyed the years spent on the commission and hope that I made a difference in making Burlington a better place to live.

I extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to our Recreation staff, fellow Recreation Commissioners, Burlington Town administration, town meeting, and especially the residents of Burlington for allowing me to be part of the Parks and Recreation Department for so many years.

Being a Recreation Commissioner provides an opportunity to enrich the lives of Burlington residents. If anyone is interested in running for the position, I would be happy to provide more information.

There is one week left to obtain your nomination papers from the Town Clerk’s office: they must be picked up by next Wednesday, February 8, and turned in by Friday, February 10. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the town in a very meaningful way. Please reach out to the Town Clerk if you have questions, or reach out to me and I can connect you with Kevin so he can answer your questions about what it’s like to be a Recreation Commissioner. The Buzz wishes Kevin the best for the future.

There are two available affordable senior housing units in Grandview Commons, with two more potentially opening up.

Interested parties must be ready buyers and able to close within 90 days. A lottery for all eligible applicants will be held for these two condominiums and to create a ranked waiting list. This same list will be used for additional units that become available during this sale process.

The application period for these units is open now until February 13 at 1:00 PM. Then, on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 2:00 PM, the lottery will be held. See below for unit descriptions.

Please contact the Town Administration office by phone (781-270-1600) or email for any questions or to submit your application (which you can find here).
